Day 5 was a long drive from Limoges to Carcassonne we passed through the Dordogne region and around Toulouse . Huge contrasts in the countryside varying from lush green landscapes to dense forests and then very industrial around Toulouse . As we arrived in Carcassonne is was obvious that we are much nearer to Spain with the style of architecture.
Day 6 oh my days where do we begin Carcassonne did not disappoint.
We spent the morning strolling around an amazing local produce market in the town square followed by lunch in an Art Deco cafe alongside the Canal du Midi we then walked up to the Medieval City . The photos speak for the beauty of this place .
We walked 22,500 steps and just over 10 miles and are now looking forward to a nice dinner and a glass of something at our hotel.
Quite simply a fabulous day
Ps. Thought for the day Carcassonne should be on everyone’s bucket list π
